Weather Photos and Videos

The photo above shows where the different fronts and pressure systems are located across the United states. It is very helpful in predicting future weather patterns. It allows the viewer to have an idea of where precipitation will occur as well as where the strongest winds will be located.

This illustration shown above describes how air moves in relation to high and low pressure systems. Low pressure surface air conditions move counter clockwise and the air moves up into the atmosphere. High pressure is just the opposite. The surface winds move in a clockwise direction and the air is sinking towards the surface of the earth.

This is a picture of a national radar. This is very useful in seeing where precipitation is located as well as seeing where possible fronts or pressure systems are located.

This is a picture of the Jet stream. It helps to show what kind of air masses our area may be experiencing. If there is a dip from the polar jet stream, we will most likely experience colder temperatures, but if it raised way above us, we may experience warmer temperatures than normal.
